Estimated Street Price: $399.99

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS TUTORIAL COMES WITH NO WARRANTY, IT WORKED FOR ME AND HOPEFULLY FOR YOU TOO. IF YOU DO NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE WITH ANY STEP, YOU SHOULD CALL BROTHER CUSTOMER SERVICE: 1-877-BROTHER (877-276-8437)

"Document Jam - Remove Jam, then press Stop"

1. Turn the Printer off
2. Lift the Cover
 3. Gently pull the paper out

4. Push the Paper Guides inward
5. Identify the following screws because you will need to remove them.

6. Use a Phillips screw driver and carefully remove the screws. Don't be lazy and try to unscrew them with the wrong sized screw driver!  You will most likely strip the screw and then you are 'EF-D'
7. Once the screws are out, pull the sideout (see picture) so you can get your hand in there with pliers.  Once you find the jamed piece of paper (usually in the left or right corner) take the pliers and GENTLY remove paper.

Gotcha you bastard!
***Optional: Test the ADF before putting the screws back in to make sure the jam is completely cleared.***

8. Put the screws back in place.

9. Turn is back on, and run a test copy. And Wa-La

It's HURRRR! Fennec aka Firefox Mobile - First Look

Oh boy is this exciting or what? Mozilla finally decided to jump on the Mobile Browser bandwagon and released Fennec (AKA Firefox Mobile).  Problem is it is only for WinMo and the Nokia N810 Internet Tablet.  But don't worry you can download an emulator for Windows, Linux & Mac OSX! (YAYYY!!!)

If you don't want to download and install it dont worry I created a screencast for you (lucky!):

First Look: Blackberry Storm Screenshots

It has been reported (Phonescoop, Mobile Computer Mag, Engadget, Crackberry) that RIM released a BlackBerry Storm emulator/simulator.  So here are some screenshots I took just in case you didn't here the news or don't/can't install the simulator.

What Would Microsoft Gain By Buying RIM?

Update 10-17-08: I am good, check it:  Microsoft Wants To Bring Silverlight To iPhone, Android

In my opinion, nothing and here is why:

Even if this is rumor is true I don't think the DOJ will allow this acquisition to happen. What Microsoft should concentrate on is strategic alliances rather than take overs. They need to come to terms that the Mobile OS war is just not for them. They already dominate the desktop market as well as the groupware market with exchange.

They need to rethink their mobile approach. Keep WinMo alive/competitive but moreover make their cash cow applications cross platform compatible. Word, Excel, Powerpoint & Exchange Support [I know they made Exchange available to many Mobile OS's] available for the iPhone, Blackberry, Symbian, Android etc.

Besides all that Silverlight should be there another key application to focus on before Adobe gets Air, Flex or Flash Lite on every mobile device possible.

MSFT should create a community revolving around WinMo SDK and provide free tools that will encourage software developers to think twice about skipping a WinMo version of their application.

Bottom line for MSFT: Concentrate on cross platform compatibility or loose the Mobile OS/Web War. If you can't beat em, join em.

That's it I'm done.

Re: Spiceworld 2008: Unofficial Poster Contest - HELP!

Ok so I am going to be attending Spiceworld 2008 in a couple of weeks. I am really excited not just because it is in Austin Texas (never been) but the fact I get to meet everyone @ Spiceworks. I will also be on a panel which is also exciting but nerve racking at the same time.

I created a post in the community forums called: 'Spiceworld 2008: Unofficial Poster Contest' and a few members (_Brian_, Chat (Spiceworks), ) posted some great posters.

Then Jen (Spiceworks) made the Contest Official and the grand prize is Photoshop CS4.  So now the flood gates open and I decided that I needed to submit more since members like Dr. Derail, Steve5766, & Bobster2 are heating up the competition.  Winning CS4 is one thing but I really want to win because I love creating posters and I think I am pretty good at it.

So this is what I am asking you, my 7 readers (according to Feedburner) to critique my current entries (comment below) and be totally honest.  I am a big boy. Say you hate it! I don't care, just be honest. I want to win really bad so I will listen to all suggestions.
